Getting Stronger, but still many doubts

Well, I did a 15 miler yesterday and had my quickest recovery yet - I feel quite strong today - the next day- but still can't imagine doing that three times plus a final 5 miles. I don't know if I will ever feel like I will be able to do the 50 miles. I will train the best I can, arrive at the day, go for it, and trust God will come upon me in my weakness - guaranteeing that only he gets the glory - how cool is that.

  1. Did you connect with the website I mentioned? Maybe you need to go for a longer run at some point. Just remember this also you will need sufficient time to recover your heart and lungs. I have to say as a bike rider who wasn't biking every day the year before that I needed more time to recover after the longer rides and the longer the ride the less I was wanting to do another long ride. but the more I have taken longer and longer rides the more I would have the energy and find myself going for that longer ride. I think I told you how I was so determined to ride from the end of the Illinois Prairie path to the lake to the plank road path down by Ed schutt home and how I totally didn't figure how long a ride it really was. I got home 12 hours later..at 2am.. I was so exhausted I biked the shortest way home for more than a week and napped after work the whole week. I finally got back to riding and yes the long rides too and yes more often just planned that if I do that ride again that I do it when the sun is about to rise. I have a hard time riding in dark unfamiliar streets and paths.
I believe this 50 mile run is possible and that you would recover. Be sure to be checked out either by the paramedics before or after the race or at least on your own before resting. I want to be sure your body recovers..
hearing that story how that one woman hit her head said she was fine ..went about her day and her head started to nauseate her and shortly after she was dead. Also people who stay at the top of mount everest too long end up not even making it off the mountain alive.

Just saying remember that even though you might feel fine it is always a great idea to be sure especially when doing something that you have a hard time doing even 1/3 of. remember that when I rode the 12 hour ride how I was basically going to bed and I mmust also say this work was concerned for me kept saying I was craisy biking so far and that I she needed me to use my energy for work. that next saturday I slept in in fact the second saturday I slept in.

You do have time to figure this preparation out.
